Bush Tours America To Survey Damage Caused By His Disastrous Presidency
You just gotta love The Onion – They really nailed this one !
I Voted this Morning !
I voted this morning in the most important presidential race in my lifetime.
I haven’t been ranting on this blog about the complex feelings that I have been having over the last 2 months, as the presidential race turning into a pageant of slime and cynicism – but it has been affecting me on a deep emotional level that I would have never thought possible.
Heard on Slashdot !

I have been a Slashdot fan for a while now, and these guys are just a STITCH. Sometimes they get going on a riff and the results are laugh out loud funny.
I am posting this ‘repost’ to illustrate, the link at the bottom will take you to the original material.

Earth Science
phobos13013 writes “Recently released evidence is showing the North Pole ice is melting at the highest rate ever recorded. As a result, the Pole may be completely ice-free at the surface and composed of nothing but open water by September. As reported in September of last year, the Northwest Passage was ice-free for the first time known to man. The implications of this, as well as the causes, are still being debated. Are global warming experts just short-sighted alarmists? Are we heading for a global ice age? Or is the increase in global mean temperature having an effect on our planet?”
The Polar Bears. No place to go any more.
But lack of polar bears is good for seals. screw those polar bears and their radical bear agenda!
But lack of seals is good for cod. screw those seals and their radial seal agenda!
Those seals are not radial! They exhibit bilateral symmetry!
Note: the above is a marine biology joke. If you have not majored in Marine Biology, please go back to college and complete enough courses until the above is funny in context.
Ohhhh yeah… studied Marine Biology have you? Well then… answer me this:
What do Walruses and Tupperware have in common?
…they both like a tight seal!
sorry…last day, won’t be here all week =(
And, plankton take solar energy and convert it into stored food energy.
So, Global Warming = Less Polar Bears = More Seals = Less Cod = More Plankton = More Solar Conversion = Global Cooling!!!!
Who cares if humans get wiped out?
Me.
… what does seal taste like?
It’s kind of gamey… like spotted owl and bald eagle….
They live in areas around which, according to the article, have plenty of ice…
Damn…That must be why my freezer keeps growling at me.
No, thats the half eaten carton of Ben and Jerry’s from 1997, clean out your damn fridge..

Google Wireless Again
It’s official. ‘Android’ will be Google’s face in the wireless world. At least I will be able to save on calls to 411.
“At the core, Google is betting that easier consumer access to Internet services from their mobile phones will lead consumers to use its services more—which has been the case with Web access on the personal computer. The open model echoes Google’s announcement last week of OpenSocial technical specifications to be used by social networking sites and software developers creating applications for them.” Wall Street Journal
“Among the handset makers that signed on to Google’s initiative were Taiwan’s HTC Corp., Samsung Electronics Co. and Motorola Inc. Operator partners include Deutsche Telekom AG’s T-Mobile, Sprint Nextel Corp., and Japan’s NTT DoCoMo Inc.”
Impressive line-up of companies.
Digital Mona Lisa ? No. but a New Viral Hit ! Mirrored
I found this on YouTube and i thought the piece was fascibating. I am always keeping my eyes open to the opportunity to find and discover a ‘Digital Mona Lisa’
This is not ‘Digital Mona Lisa’, but is a a very interesting collaboration that is worthy of checking out.
A Battles collaboration with celebrated light artists UVA (United Visual Artists), produced by Warp Films (This Is England, Rubber Johnny, Dead Mans Shoes etc.).
Google Mobile coming soon !
Living in a beautiful New England location has many drawbacks, one of them being that the local telcos are so ridiculously backwards, a vestigial tail of days gone by.
For instance, for me to make a phone call 5 miles down the road in the same state, one town over, is a long distance call. Crazy and absurd.
The other thing is boggles the mind are the phone books. Since 5 miles away is a long distance call, I also require an additional phone book to locate businesses in that town. Add this to the fact that I live in a tri-state area, and it shows what is antiquated business model for the Yellow Pages has become. Not for the various companies that publish the Yellow Pages, but for the businesses that pay to advertise in the Yellow Pages. usi
These days, I don’t even bother to call 411 and get charged an absurd $1.50, I use Google. If the business cannot be found on Google, then I find someone else who has what I need. In a tri-state area such as mine, the Yellow Pages are irrelevant, and I begin to understand the power of using Google for my search in a cell phone. That is a service I would even pay for, although, it would have to be far less than $1.50 per search.
Makes me start seeing the potential in having a Google cell phone, or a Google wifi phone. AT&T and Verizon, take a hike !
Hey There big Guy !
Well, I have been doing a new blog for outsider art for a client of mine, trying to help their old art gallery space to get found. In doing this research I have now officially graduated to the ‘hard core’ blogging word, embarking on the open source quest using WordPress. In my search for PHP tools to integrate WordPress with Flickr, I stumbled upon Tijs Teulings blog researching the WordPress Theme of Hemingway and Slickr where I clicked onto his link to MyBlogLog. So now I am on that site and see people viewing, I thought I would write this quich post to say “Hello all out there in the MyBlogLog community !
Moving rapidly towards Joomla !
Well, as the titles says, I have outgrown the WordPress blog application in faily short order and now I am on to WordPress.
Joomla allows for a certain amount of robustness in content production and uploading capabilities, and as of late I have pitched a few new clients and the response has been faily overwhelming.
There is an aspect of ‘Interactive Design’ which has really determined how people interact with websites that has grown over the years that has taken on new meaning in the way I see the overall direction of website design.
Being a huge fan of Myst in the early days of CDRom’s I can safely say that I an not immune to the appeal of a certain amount of intrigue and discovery in the process of ‘walking’ through’ an new and wondrous ‘Virtual World’. That being said the web has changed into a world where being grounded in the familiar has taken on an appeal all it’s own. I guess this sounds like it is coming from the ‘if ya can’t beat em, join ‘em’ camp, but as a sales tool for engaging people in the notion of ‘website salvage’ becomes an attractive option.
Enter Joomla, a robust and powerful open source driven CMS which allows handing off of content and website management to the client. I am very excited by the response I have had so far and look forward to really getting a handle on how to use this powerful new application.
